BSc Business Computing

This degree, which is interdisciplinary, combines the broad spectrum of Information Technologies, (electronic offices programming, databases, and the internet) in addition to the fundamental areas of Business (management, marketing and accounting economics, law, and management). Graduates will possess the knowledge and skills needed to understand the business functions and analyse user information needs in order to develop and implement information systems.

You’ll be able to discern intuitively, by combining of theory and practical experience the constantly changing combination of processes needed for information delivery systems to perform their roles in an organisation. You’ll also be taught to recognise that a business is an entity that is constantly changing and evolving and how its information systems need to be able to adjust to these changes as well as the new requirements and demands of users.

In your second year, you’ll sharpen your IT and computing skills by participating in workshops and projects. Our professors will share their knowledge of research with students, and they’ll give you the opportunity to participate in an industrial placement year, where you’ll be able to in-game currency put your new skills into practice in a working environment.

Our teaching is influenced by the latest technological developments and is focused on integrating the latest technologies to business contexts. You can select from a variety of subjects, including Big Data Analytics and Informatics Strategy and Management, as along with e-Business Technology. Regular guest speakers from the top companies will help to enhance the learning and will help to demonstrate the importance of the subject matter you are studying and the opportunities for career advancement for our graduates.
